NoctaSell collects information necessary to provide our business management platform. This includes:
Account Information
When you register, we collect your name, email address, business name, and a secure password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name and email address.
Business & Operational Data
Data you create and manage on our platform including products, inventory records, sales orders, customer records, invoices, and financial transaction history. This data belongs to you and your business.
Payment Information
When you process payments through NoctaSell, transactions are handled by Paystack, our payment processor. NoctaSell does not store your customers' card numbers or mobile money PINs. We store transaction references, amounts, and status for your business records.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you use NoctaSell, including pages visited, features used, time spent, device type, browser type, and IP address. This helps us improve the platform.
Communications
If you contact our support team, we retain those communications to assist you and improve our service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the NoctaSell platform and all its features (POS, Inventory, Invoicing, Storefront, Bulk SMS, Reports, etc.)
- Process your transactions and manage your business wallet balance
- Send transactional communications such as OTP verification codes, invoice payment confirmations, and order notifications
- Enable Bulk SMS campaigns you initiate to your customers through the platform
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Monitor platform performance, detect bugs, and prevent fraud or misuse
- Improve and develop new features based on aggregated usage patterns
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
We do not use your business data to train AI models, sell to third parties, or for advertising purposes.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
NoctaSell does not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party providers to operate NoctaSell, including Paystack for payment processing, and other infrastructure providers for database and hosting. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us.
Your Customers
When your business customers place orders through your NoctaSell storefront or receive SMS campaigns, they interact with data you manage. You are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from your customers.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of NoctaSell, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/HTTPS). We implement strict security rules to ensure each business can only access its own data.
Financial transaction records, wallet balances, and ledger entries are written exclusively by our server-side systems and cannot be directly modified by client applications. Platform revenue records are immutable once written.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your credentials confidential.
5. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Portability: Request your business data in a machine-readable format
- Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data

6. Data Retention
We retain your account and business data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud prevention purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial records under applicable laws).
Transaction logs and financial records may be retained longer to comply with accounting regulations. Anonymised, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
7. Children's Privacy
NoctaSell is a business management platform intended for use by adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the NoctaSell platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of NoctaSell after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
